Life Legacy
Ramos, Maria, 82, of Pawtucket, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket. She was the wife of the late Antonio Ramos. Born in Terceira, Azores, Maria was the daughter of Antonio Rocha Tristao and Serefina Ludivina (Rocha) Tristao. Maria came to the US in 1968 and settled in North Providence. She has been a Pawtucket resident for most of her life. Prior to retiring in 1989, Maria worked as a Carder at the Monet Jewelry Company in Pawtucket for 12 years. Maria was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and a member of the St. Anthony Holy Spirit Society.
Maria is survived by a son, Antonio Ramos and his wife Mariana Ramos of North Providence; a daughter, Maria Elsi Barcelos and her husband Benjamin Barcelos of North Providence; six grandchildren, Kevin Barcelos, Christine Barcelos, Eric Ramos, Shawn Ramos, Kayla Ramos all of North Providence and David Ramos of Warwick.
Her funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from the LACHAPELLE FUNERAL HOME, 643 Main Street, Pawtucket, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anthony’s Church, Lawn Avenue, Pawtucket at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will follow in the family lot at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery in Pawtucket. Maria’s life will be celebrated with calling hours on Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
