Life Legacy


Farebrother, Lloyd William, 67 of Pawtucket passed away on Monday, January 18, 2009 at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury, MA. Born in Montreal Canada, Lloyd was the son of the late Alfred E. and Ruth (Bowler) Farebrother. Lloyd attended the Merton High School in Montreal and graduated in 1953 with Honors. He attended college and earned his B.A., BSC., MA, MSC and received a PhD in Physics from Sir George Williams University.

Lloyd owned Transportation Services, Inc. until 1971. Prior to retiring, due to a lengthy hospital stay from a spinal injury, he worked as an Engineer at Brown and Sharpe in Providence, RI.

Lloyd served in the US Navy during WWII and was Commander and Sr. Vice Commander in the American Legion Post 60 and holds a lifetime membership.

Lloyd is survived by his fiancée and caregiver, Gloria Aptt of South Attleboro, MA; a son Robert Farebrother of Providence and his loving cat Diana.

Lloyd was the brother of the late Andrea Sharp of Ontario, Canada.

His funeral will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. from the LACHAPELLE FUNERAL HOME, 643 Main Street, Pawtucket, with a Committal Service in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Lloyd’s life will be celebrated with calling hours on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
