Life Legacy
Candida Gonsalves,75, of Grand Avenue, Pawtucket, died Sunday at Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Brava, Cape Verde Islands, Candida was the daughter of the late Jose Manuel Santos and Maria Santos. Candida came to the US in 1945 and settled in Boston. She was a Pawtucket resident since 1971.
Prior to her retirement in 1997, Candida was a machine operator at School House Candy for 30 years.
Candida is survived by two sons, Napoleon Gonsalves of North Attleboro, Joseph Gonsalves of East Providence; one daughter Lisa Gonsalves of Providence; a daughter-in-law, Laura Lopes of North Attleboro; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grand children.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in the LACHAPELLE FUNERAL HOME 643 Main St. Pawtucket. Her life will be celebrated with calling hours Friday 4-7 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will follow in North Burial Ground, Providence.
